Acupuncture and the Taoïst tradition
Acupuncture is a very effective therapeutic healing method inspired from Taoism and Confucianism. Both aim to balance the fundamental energies of the human being, while healing diseases and discomfort, and following one's inner path towards accomplishment.
This tune up allows the patient to gain in vitality and contact his inner self.
It allows hidden or harmful energies to be released; it opens the doors of consciousness and enables to turn towards a better balance in life and a greater “joie de vivre” in harmony with the universe.
Clinical practice
The first consultation allows me to determine what basic energy unbalance is generating the disease or the discomfort.
I therefore ask the patient about the most characteristic manifestations of his symptoms among which precise localizations, sensations and conditions and stress which preceded. I take the patients pulses, I observe him and I interrogate upon his general condition and his striking psychological traits.
With these elements I am able to make an energy evaluation according to the Chinese medical philosophy and I design an acupuncture treatment thereafter.
For the treatment itself, I puncture the points chosen for their particular effectiveness, with very fine disposable sterilized needles.
The patient may feel a sensation similar to that of a mosquito bite initially and other varied sensations of very short duration followed by a feeling of well being and relaxation.
The needles stay on for about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the case, then are removed.
On occasion, I use moxa which consists in stimulating the vital force with heat on the same acupuncture points.
Treatments are usually applied once or twice weekly, initially then gradually spaced out with amelioration of the condition. There are no side effects and the treatment boosts your vitality.
